Brantgate B & B is perfectly located for an enjoyable and relaxing stay in the Lake District National Park. We are ideally situated to not only explore Keswick and Lake Derwentwater, Ullswater, Grasmere (the home of Wordsworth), Ambleside and many other places in the Lake District, but we are also within easy driving distance of the Scottish Borders, Hadrian’s Wall, the North Pennine Dales and the Eden Valley.

We have excellent walking close by, with walks up Saddleback (Blencathra), Skiddaw and Carrock that can begin from our doorstep. We can offer advice on walking in the Lakeland fells and can recommend walks to suit all abilities, from strenuous walks up one of the mountains to more gentle strolls around a picturesque lake. 

Cyclists / Mountain Bikers will also find the roads much quieter in the Northern Fells and there are off road routes for the more adventurous.  We are also on one of the Lands End to John 0’Groats cycle routes and a short hop from the C2C cycle route.

There are numerous activities available locally, ranging from hang gliding, climbing and mountain biking or for those seeking less strenuous pursuits, castles, gardens, museums and stately homes to relaxing in the evening in one of the local country pubs or at the Theatre by the Lake in Keswick.
